If I add and SFZ instrument to an orchestra, trying to load it into a channel by right-clicking on the instrument and then selecting "Load Instrument" and then the desired channel results in a "Failed to load instrument!" error. This happens even if I change the enging in the desired channel to "SFZ engine" first. I can load the instrument if I do the whole operation in the channel itself (the rack-mounted unit in the center), even if I choose "Select instrument from orchestra), so the summary I entered isn't completely accurate, but I didn't know how else to word it. I want to be able to load an instrument directly from the orchestra listing at the left, but I suspect it's assuming the GIG engine, and there's no way to specify otherwise when adding instruments to orchestras. The instrument I'm attempting to load is the Salamander Grand Piano, but I don't think it's specific to that instrument, and the problem may also apply to SF2 instruments (I'll have to check).
I just tried a couple of SF2's. Same problem, so it's not limited to SFZ's.
I added a combobox in the Add/Edit Instrument dialog, from which you can choose a sampler engine to be used to load the instrument. I think this fixes the problem. Thanks for reporting this issue!
Thanks. That works great!
I spoke too soon. It works great until I exit JSampler and restart it, and then it reverts back to the GIG engine, so the engine isn't getting saved. Should I reopen this bug, or open a new one (since it isn't technically the same problem)?
I've just committed a fix for this. Hope now it all works Ok. Thanks!
It looks like it's working properly now. Thanks.
